Dirty Radio Music

I am currently working camps for young kids. The other day I happened to be coaching a soccer camp with young kids. They ranged from six to twelve years old. I decided to give them an award since they had been good all week and allowed them to pick a radio station to blast from my car while we did soccer drills. I was a little surprised when most kids wanted 100.3 which plays a lot pop and hiphop. It shocked me when the kids started singing along dirty lyrics of a popular song right now. It just did not seem right. Did their parents let them listen to this music? That got me thinking about my own upbringing and I tried to remember what I was listening to on the radio as a child. All that come to mind are oldies songs and maybe some alternative which included such artists at Pearl Jam and such. I am not so incident to believe that even oldies songs have sexual references and double meanings. It just that the music that kids are listening to today seems down right inappropriate. Well, as you expect a good coach to do, I had to run to change the radio station. This brings up larger issues. Should radio be more censored?
